Edgar Alanis - President/CEO
Edgar Alanis is the President and CEO of the Northbrook-based company, Unique Upholstery Carpet and Rug Cleaning. He expertly leads and manages the day-to-day business. Before acquiring the business from its founder, Unique Larry Rosenthal, he dedicated 16 years as a technician, team lead, and job site manager. During that time, he honed his skills in cleaning and restoring upholstery, carpets, and other surfaces in residential homes. In 2024, he took the helm of the business, ready to carry on the Unique mission of providing nothing short of exceptional customer service with top-notch products.
Edgar’s journey at Unique began in 2009 as a technician, and after eight years of dedication and growth, he transitioned into a management role. He underwent IICRC training to become a certified professional in cleaning, maintenance, and restoration. Over the years, he has gained a wealth of knowledge in eco-friendly and pet-friendly products and services, becoming a diligent team leader and mentor to his peers. He has established a sterling reputation for white-glove customer service among their customers.
Outside of managing Unique, Edgar is a wonderful husband and a proud father to two young boys. When he’s not busy making the world a better place, he loves watching sports (Go Cubs!), going to music and food festivals, traveling, and spending time with his family. Edgar and his wife, Jessica, have a mutual enjoyment for playing pool and have been in a pool league for 8 years.

Big job well done. Yesterday we had every carpet and rug cleaned in our home. The workmen arrived on time, were cheerful, polite, helpful, efficient and did a beautiful job. My one issue would be that the price seemed rather high. Then again, I guess you get what you pay for. Thank you Unique Carpeting!

Service perfection! Owner Edgar is professional, articulate and friendly, and was able to remove some very tough, longtime carpet stains! He went so far as to capture and release 3 robin birds that flew into our home during carpet cleaning when garage door was open. HIGHLY recommend Unique and Edgar!!! I’m a very pleased customer.
